Khaki Cropped Jacket: Cato, red bow shirt: Express, brown striped skirt: NY&Co., beige heels: Bandolino (DSW)
Once before, I wore this shirt under a brown tee, and I loved the results, and lots of readers did, too. I wanted to try the red and brown combination again today. I like that somehow with this outfit, the red seems to fit into a neutral monochromatic pattern.
On a different note, I started back at the gym yesterday and it felt great! I really hope I can get back into a pattern. If I can make it past the first month, then I'm good to go. I just have to trick myself into staying motivated!!

Twofer Tuesday
MONDAY: Pink silk oxford: NY&Co., black stretchy skirt: Old Navy, black vest: Old Navy, black heels: Payless
Had to go to the doctor yesterday and get a mole removed off my back. They didn't give me a gown to wear, so I had to lay across the chair in a pencil skirt and heels with my bra unsnapped! Awkward! At least once I got myself all dressed again, I LOOKED professional, even if I felt uncomfortable and awkward!
TUESDAY: black zipper shirt: NY&Co., lemony pants: NY&Co., blue and green necklace; NY&Co., (pattern here, huh?), black sandles: CK (DSW)
I bought this necklace specifically because I have nothing else like it. I'm trying to find different things to wear it with. Obviously, I don't have any thing else like it because I'm having a hard time pairing it with outfits...which makes NO SENSE at all because its tiered and layered and is lovely neutral colors! I'm going to have to try a little harder!

Thursdays Were Made for Yellow
YELLOW SWEATER: NY&CO., WHITE UNDERSHIRT: HANES, BLACK PANTS: NY&CO., BLACK HEELS: PAYLESS, SCARF: FROM SHIRT (TARGET)
Its rainy and muggy today, and only in the 80s. My office has been freezing this week, so I feel like I'm dressed for winter, but this sweater is thin enough to justify it being worn in the dead of summer. My outfit was a little boring this morning, so I threw on this silk scarf to dress it up just a little.

Mid-Week Post!
TUESDAY IN TURQUOISE: Turquoise silk shirt: JC Penneys, gray wide-leg pants: NY&Co., black loafers: Etienne Aigner, black tab belt: NY&Co.
This is the second time I've worn this shirt, and though I get compliments on the vibrant material and color, I just don't like it. If a DROP of moisture hits the shirt, it stains! Eventually the "stain" comes out when I wash it, but for the entire day I have this little wet spot wherever it hit. Yesterday I washed my hands and dropped the paper towel as I was drying...and had water spots down my shirt for the rest of the afternoon. Ugh!
WHY, IT'S ALREADY WEDNESDAY!: coral shirt: Ann Taylor, pink undershirt: J. Crew, black striped skirt: Old Navy, beige heels: DSW/Bandolino, champagne necklace: NY&Co.
Just wanted to be comfortable today, and I'm certainly that! The only thing slightly inhibiting today is my shoes, but that's only because I cut my foot while floating the Llano this weekend. I'm suffering through it though!
My hair is now in a ponytail, so this braid doesn't look quite as cute anymore, but I left it in and stuck my hair up anyway!

Channeling Gwen Stefani
Neon yellow bird shirt: Walmart, black vest: TJ Maxx, slim fit jeans: Express, black oxford heels: Payless
My outfit today was SO inexpensive, and I'm liking it alot. I also LOVE the way my hair turned out today. I look a little punk today, which is a great contrast from yesterday's preppy vibe. I'm having fun playing with my closet!

Baby Got (a bow in the) Back
purple sweater: Target, white button up: NY&Co., brown skirt w/ bow: Victoria's Secret, brown heels: Walmart
I feel like I've been neglecting my appearance some lately. I still haven't switched my summer clothes to my closet and am essentially living out of my guest closet, so a project I'd like to assign myself this weekend is to reorganize it and move my winter stuff to the guest closet. However, I'll be gone for the 4th, so I'm not sure when I'll have to do that. Maybe I should utilize my "off" time tomorrow to do it! Come on motivation!!

A Plethora of Outfits!
RAAARRR
Day One of my Land Class and I wanted to be comfortable and casual, but still look like maybe I had a little bit of fashion sense hidden in me somewhere!
Silky shirt: NY&Co., olive pants: Victoria's Secret, jewelry: NY&Co., black flats: Target
PREPPY IN STRIPES:
Day Two of class, and I figured I could break out some denim since the rest of the class didn't care about appearance near as much as I did. Plus, you have to admit, there's something in keeping with the "school" theme when you're wearing layers, a ponytail, and a headband!
blue sweater: TJ Maxx, blue and white collared shirt: Old Navy, jeans: Gap, white flats: Target
FEELING FREE ON FRIDAY:
Another half-day today and I was feeling the casual vibe! I was "free" at noon to go lay out for pretty much the entire weekend!
Printed red shirt: NY&Co., jeans: Gap, bird necklace: Charlotte Russe, black bow sandles: Ross
TIED UP AT WORK:
Back to Kimberly's Outfit Inspiration Calendar for today, where wearing a scarf as a belt was the call for today!
purple shirt: Target, gray pinstriped pants: NY&Co., scarf: great-grandmother, Nana, necklace: NY&Co., purple and black t-strap heels: Target

Monday Mango and Tuesday Turquoise
MONDAY:
CORAL TOP: J. CREW
WHITE TANK: OLD NAVY
JEANS: GAPFLOWER FLATS: OLD NAVY
NECKLACE: CHARLOTTE RUSSE
I absolutely fell in love with this shirt when I saw it at the J. Crew store, and paid more than I normally would for such a casual shirt. I finally wore it and was not disappointed. It was just as comfy and cool as I'd hoped.
I love you "statement" necklace!
TUESDAY:
TURQUOISE VEST: OLD NAVY
WHITE BUTTON UP: NY&CO
BROWN PANTS: OLD NAVY
WHITE EYELET FLATS: TARGET
My legs are gross and peeling right now, so its pants for a few more days. I love that this is a seasonless outfit (other than the eyelet shoes). Its pretty comfortable, too!

IN STRIPES
GOLD AND WHITE STRIPED SHIRT: V'S SECRET, VIA KIMBERLY
OWL: CHARLOTTE RUSSE
JEANS: EXPRESS
BROWN FLATS: CATOOWL: CHARLOTTE RUSSE
I'm off for the rest of the day today! Thank goodness, because I'm in a grumpy mood and don't think I would have been pleasant to be around for the afternoon! Today I threw on a warm (its cold in my office) shirt from Kimberly, and an owl around my neck. Can't beat that on a half-day Friday!

Just Happy to be Here!
GREEN CAPRIS: TARGET
BLACK SHIRT W/ STRIPES: CATO
BLACK FLATS: TARGETI've been getting to work every morning at 7:00 so that I can take off at noon on Fridays. If I get here at 7:30, I can make up that 30 minutes at lunch or in the evenings. I hate to do that though. This morning, I woke up at 6:41 (after snoozing enough times for my alarm to say: Screw you then, I'm going back to sleep too) and somehow made it to work at 7:15. I shouldn't say "somehow" though. Here's how. I look pretty rough today!

Color Combo: Yellow & White
MUSTARD V-NECK: NY&CO.
WHITE POLO: OLD NAVY
WHITE PANTS: VICTORIA'S SECRET
BLACK HEELS: CL BY LAUNDRY
The Outfit Inspiration Calendar told me to wear yellow and white today, and even though I just wore these pants last week, I was so inspired by the model wearing white pants and yellow top that I had to make sure they were clean for today! I think this outfit is just so summery, with white on both the top and bottom half! A have a peek of black in my shoes and purse today too! I love wearing colors like black as an accent color! I'm feeling a little sassy in my pose today, can you tell?!

Wearing Green!
BUTTON-UP SHIRT: EXPRESS
BLACK PANTS: NY&CO.
SILVER BELT: WALMART
BLACK FLATS: DUSTEE'S
Last night was my husband and my 7 year anniversary! We went to one of the (two) nice restaurants in this town, and had a wonderfully lovely meal, good wine, and great dessert. We came home and watched True Blood for the 2nd time this week. I really don't know what could make a better anniversary night, honestly!
Because I stayed up a little later than normal, I went with some classic black pants and a button-up shirt. I still fit in the Outfit Inspiration Calendar today, though, because all it told me to wear was GREEN!

"Military" Girl and Button Up Shirt with Gray Pants
WEDNESDAY--
"WOODEN" FULL SKIRT: ISAAC MIZRAHI FOR TARGET
GREEN SHIRT: VIA KIMBERLY
WEDGE HEELS W/ GOLD BUCKLE: TARGET
I have yet to really get into the "military" trend. I don't care much for camo green, though my Texas country roots do require that I own at least one camo baseball cap...and a t-shirt or two. Otherwise, I have nothing business appropriate or even dressy casual that I can pull off for a military trend. The best I can do is give you a wooden print and a fun shirt in slightly brighter than traditional military tones!

Oxford? Check. Gray pants? Check. This Outfit from the OIC today was easy to do! I was happy to wear it to, because we are reaching 100 degrees this week outside...and to over-compensate for that, the office has the air cranked up and yesterday I froze to death in my skirt!!

BUN: COURTESY OF MY ALARM NOT GOING OFF
I'm getting annoyed with glitches in Blogger lately! If I try to schedule a post, part of the time it just goes ahead and posts it immediately, sometimes it does it correctly, and the other times it just doesn't post it at all!
Today I woke up at 6:17 a.m.--and wanted to be at work at 7:00. I can't stand not washing my hair, so that wasn't an option, so up it went into a bun partially wet. Luckily, I pick out my outfits and iron and prepare them the night before. I got ready QUICKLY this morning!!

OIC: Wear Bright Shoes to Match Your Outfit
PINK TUNIC: NINE WEST
BLACK STRETCHY PANTS: EXPRESS (CIRCA 2000)
PINK HEELS: BANDOLINO (DSW)
Flex hours began at work this morning, which means I'm working nine hours a day Monday through Thursday and then I get off at noon on Friday. I'm very excited! The alarm went off an hour earlier this morning, though, and I must admit...I didn't want to get up while it was still dark outside! Once I was awake though, I was fine. I may not be saying that at 5:30 a.m. on Thursday though! But it will all be worth it this Friday...when I'm off at noon and take off to float the RIVER!!! So excited :)

Gray Jacket and Sunny Skies!
GRAY JACKET: Given by Kimberly!
STRAIGHT LEG JEANS: Express
FLOWERED TOP: New York & Co.
GRAY FLATS: Target
Throw on some skinnier jeans and some flats, and I've got a perfectly acceptable business casual Friday afternoon wardrobe! :)

I finally visited the Outfit Inspiration Calendar and it called for a summer jacket over a patterned shirt. What a great way to wear my new-to-me jacket from Kim and also put this shirt into rotation again. I like the shirt flows out from under the jacket, and I love the color and fit of the jacket itself.

"OWL" wear a dress today!
BLACK SHEATH DRESS: New York & Co.
BLUE BUTTON-UP: Old Navy
BELT: Free w/ Cato shorts
OWL NECKLACE: Charlotte Russe
LACEY HEELS: Payless
I woke up early enough to do my hair today! I think once I figure it out (its a little girly with all those curled in layers) I'm going to like it. The bangs can be swished to the side if I want but I've been having fun with them down the last few days.
My real camera is dead, so I've been using my Iphone until I remember to get my camera and my charger in the same place! I also like the convenience of the Iphone--I just email it to myself, edit it on Picassa, and save it all in one place. It shouldn't be, and I can't really explain why, but it is such a pain to download pictures from my camera!!
My friends know that I have been on the lookout for an owl necklace for at least 6 months now. I know owls are on the downward slope (or so I've been telling people) but I found this necklace at Charlotte Russe this weekend...for $4.99...and I loved it!
I'm loving the cheeky owl necklace with this otherwise professional outfit. :) I'm also enjoying the mix of black and brown that the necklace and the belt give me.

New Hair and Vitamin Rant
gray shirt: Cato, black pants: NY&Co., red flowered flats: Walmart
I think my vitamins are finally kicking in. I've been taking One-A-Day VitaCrave Gummies (which you ironically have to take two of a day) for about a month now, and I highly recommend them.
I used to take vitamins daily, but things like MOVING really knock me out of my comfort schedule, so it took my months to get back into it. I'm back on the vitamin routine...next is the gym, blah. Anyway, yesterday after work, I got my haircut (new place = approved. Thanks, Leila!), cook dinner, washed two rounds of dishes, washed some sheets, changed the bed, put up laundry, gave the dogs a bath, watched Glee, caught up on some Stephanie Plum...and finally crashed around midnight.
All that being said after bragging about those vitamins...waking up this morning was a little difficult, so I didn't get to play with my new hair. So, these pics are pretty boring today--my outfit is more comfortable than stylish, but I like my new bangs :) Maybe tomorrow I'll even fix my hair! :)

2 Posts: Shopping Saturday and Back-to-Work Tuesday
SATURDAY: shimmery shorts: NY&Co., white oxford: NY&Co., black sandles: Cato, black tab belt: NY&Co.
This weekend, the husband and I spent our Memorial Day holiday in Dallas. His brother lives there, and most of my time was spent relaxing by their pool and soaking in the Dallas sun, but Saturday afternoon my sister-in-law and I did some shopping at the Allen Outlets. It was insane..both in a good way (40% off sales) and a bad way (tons of people!). I wanted to wear something cute and comfortable. I expect to see this outfit on myself again this summer!
TUESDAY: flowy top: NY&Co., jeans: Old Navy, nautical sandles: Ross, butterfly clip: Charlotte Russe
I didn't get back in time to see the Outfit Inspiration Calendar beginning today, so I'm not dressed appropriately for it. I am comfortable today though, which is necessary on the first day back after a long weekend. I'm getting my hair cut tonight at a new place, too, and I fit in with the West Texas vibe around here!
