"Military" Girl and Button Up Shirt with Gray Pants

WEDNESDAY--
"WOODEN" FULL SKIRT: ISAAC MIZRAHI FOR TARGET
GREEN SHIRT: VIA KIMBERLY
WEDGE HEELS W/ GOLD BUCKLE: TARGET

I have yet to really get into the "military" trend.  I don't care much for camo green, though my Texas country roots do require that I own at least one camo baseball cap...and a t-shirt or two.  Otherwise, I have nothing business appropriate or even dressy casual that I can pull off for a military trend.  The best I can do is give you a wooden print and a fun shirt in slightly brighter than traditional military tones!

THURSDAY--
PINK AND WHITE OXFORD: GAP
GRAY PIN-STRIPED PANTS: NY&CO
WHITE EYELET WEDGES: TARGET
WHITE BELT: WHITE HOUSE/BLACK MARKET

Oxford?  Check.  Gray pants?  Check.  This Outfit from the OIC today was easy to do!  I was happy to wear it to, because we are reaching 100 degrees this week outside...and to over-compensate for that, the office has the air cranked up and yesterday I froze to death in my skirt!!

In All Black

black and white detailed oxford: New York & Co., black pants: New York & Co., black boots: George (Walmart), white belt: White House Black Market

Today I'm either inspired by a magazine picture I saw months ago featuring a mom and daughter and showing moms how to wear their daughter's clothes (it was a short sleeve button up black shirt, black pants, and black boots) or Johnny Cash.

Our weekend was spent in San Antonio visiting my brother and his girlfriend, (and seeing Tech win the Alamo Bowl despite the Mike Leach conspiracy, er, controversy), and Ashley and I ran to the mall while we were there. We didn't spend too much time there, but it was lovely to be back in a city that had stores--namely, New York & Co. I saw this shirt and fell in love with it immediately...and then saw that it was on sale for $19.99!!

Today, I'm happy to be back at work and a structured routine again, and am even going to tackle a spin class at the gym today. Back in shape body, here I come...

Tired today...

Turquoise skirt: New York & Co., black turtleneck: Old Navy, white belt: White House Black Market, black boots: Walmart.

I'm too tired to write today. I just got home from work 40 minutes late and skipped lunch today. I feel like I got a lot accomplished though...just tired! My feet are killing me from these boots, too.

Fun bracelet!

I was proud of my eye makeup this morning...

Yesterday's Stripes

Gray and white striped oxford: The Limited, Dark Gray skirt: Willi Smith (TJ Maxx), Sandles: Calvin Klein, Belt: White House Black Market, Pearls: Gift from Kimberly

As we were all leaving the office last night to try a new bar for Happy Hour, I realized I hadn't taken my daily outfit picture! I got Jen to snap it quickly, and off we went. Once I got home, I was busy packing because I'm flying to Lubbock tonight, and then my husband was yelling at me that he was ready to watch Glee (even though it was DVR'd and we could have watched it at any point) so I never got to post for yesterday.

You can't see the stripes very well in this shirt, but they're there. I'll wear it again, because I love wearing that oxford with white jeans in the winter. I'm thrilled with this skirt because it was snug at one point and now it is quite loose. I love these sandles, but the left one is very uncomfortable. I work through it, though, for the sake of CKs.

Where's My Anchor?

Navy and green shirt--New York & Co.; Jeans--Victoria's Secret; Green wedges--Etienne Aigner; White belt--White House Black Market.

Lately, the best part of my 8-5 day has been updating this blog.

Today, I'm incredibly busy and haven't had time to post anything. I had a two hour meeting this morning which pretty much has wiped out the rest of my afternoon and whole next week with work.

But, because I am dedicated and can procrastinate anything--even the thing I'm getting paid to do--I'm taking some time to put this up.

Why of why haven't I bought an anchor necklace to go with my nautical outfits?

This shirt makes me think about color combinations: most people would normally hesitate to pair spring green with navy blue, but when you put it in a cute pattern on a silky shirt, it looks perfect together. I have a navy blue pencil skirt--I'm going to try to pair it with a green shirt next time I wear it. green wedges @ Brittany's Cleverly Titled Blog

Parents Weekend

Saturday outfit: Shirt--Express, Shorts--New York & Co., Shoes--Aldo, Necklace--LLPA Gift Exchange

This weekend my family came to visit. We had a good visit--lots of quality time in, mostly via shopping adventures. Saturday we tore up the mall, and my cousin Logan made off like a bandit (it might have been due to my grandmother's three margaritas at Cafe Adobe.) This outfit I wore that day was super comfortable, and I promise that I didn't look near as fat in person as I do in these pictures:

Sunday outfit: Shirt--Old Navy, Shorts--Cato, Necklace--Nana, Belt--White House Black Market
Sunday, we mainly just went to Cato and then Cheesecake Factory for lunch. I refrained from ordering a giant piece of cheesecake (I did eat two pieces of Logan's, though.) I also had an entire bowl of macaroni and cheese, so don't praise me too much.

white as an accent color @ Brittany's Cleverly Titled BlogI enjoyed playing with the outfit I wore on Sunday--I wore denim shorts and a long sleeve navy blue shirt--and used white accessories as accent pieces. It was fun to use white as my "pop of color".
